Restoration Resources has hired Christy Owens as a Plant Ecologist. She has been working in the environmental field, specifically in botany, since 2002. Her experience includes botanical surveys, wetland delineations, and biological resource evaluations of project sites, as well as ongoing monitoring of mitigation projects with regard to both flora and fauna on site. Her work in both created and natural vernal pool habitats provides her with a unique specialization in a growing field requiring mitigation and monitoring.

Restoration Resources has been awarded the 2008 Excellence in Transporation Award in the category of THE ENVIRONMENT for the Highway 149 Environmental Impact Mitigation Project. There were nearly 90 entries from across the State, which were reviewed by a panel of judges that included professional engineers, environmental scientists, transporation planners, historical preservation architects, and the Seismic Advisory Board.

Restoration Resources has hired Niall McCarten as the Director of the newly expanded Consulting & Design Group. Niall comes to Restoration Resources with more than 26 years of environmental consulting experience and conducting scientific approaches in solving environmental issues and the ecological studies of plants and wildlife, wetland and terrestrial habitats, watersheds, and ecosystems. Mr. McCarten has successfully managed teams of scientists, planners, and economists on a broad range of projects.

Restoration Resources has hired Victor Navarrete as a Project Manager/Construction Supervisor in order to serve our expanding customer needs. Victor will have many responsibilities in his new role not only in the office, but also out in the field managing crews. Victor has worked in the landscape construction industry for almost 20 years in both the custom residential and commercial markets and he has also managed the maintenance of large facilities. He received his AS in Environmental Horticulture at Sierra College in Rocklin and looks forward to continuing his formal learning at Restoration Resources. In his free time, Victor enjoys spending time with his family, listening to live music, movies, and watching UFC.

Restoration Resources is in the process of hiring up to15 field technicians to properly serve a newly awarded contract with San Rafael Rock Quarry, Inc. dba Dutra Materials. “It was necessary to hire the additional personnel in order to serve our erosion control clients more efficiently”, says Ralph Vigil, Director of Operations for Restoration Resources. This project includes levee repair work in various locations along the Sacramento River and Sutter Slough. The newly hired employees will be performing revegetation, planting, and irrigation work in order to stabilize these important waterways.

Restoration Resources has hired Carla Pendery as an Administrative Assistant for the Consulting and Design (C&D) department. Carla comes with experience in the construction trade from working for an urban developer in Chico. Carla liked working in the construction market and chose Restoration Resources because of our good reputation in the industry. In her free time, Carla enjoys camping and pretty much anything outdoors.
